You can see there is a serious problem. The argument that we can do something about it is silly. This spending is a result of Medicare, SS & Obamacare, plus interest. As can be seen, the spending has leveled off at a much higher rate than it was under GWB, even though we were engaged in two wars. There have been substantial tax increases as a result of Obamacare which obviously apply downward pressure on the economy.

We're in a mess and there is no way to talk us out of it. As you can see the projected figures going forward pose serious problems and they cannot be overcome without making substantial cuts to some of these programs that are causing the problem.

Given that both wars [should be] are winding down, there is no further stimulus, there is no TARP, the spending figures should have come down. But they did not.

In only a few years we're looking at 8T in spending and there really is no place to get that money.
