Battery life for my laptop and being able to see the screen in bright light, or even low light if there are reflections, are such issues for me that I'd swap to a black and white screen instead of colour to get the Paradigm screen and longer life when out and about.

Devices are cheap enough these days that it would be worth having two cloned devices. Or maybe screens could be clip-on [colour for home, black and white for out].

Black and white is fine for nearly everything. Newspapers for a century were black and white and were fine. Photos are fine in black and white. Schindler's List was filmed in black and white and was better than in colour [which was why he did it like that].
