Just look at the figures. Adjusted for inflation, the middle class has lost ground by just about every measure you look at. The poor, even more.
We live in an age where everyone is walking down the street and even driving with smartphones.

Obesity is a bigger problem than hunger, even among the poor.

Cars are bigger now, safer, and more luxurious. Yes, even the cheap ones.

Paying $3 for a cup of Starbucks is no longer considered extravagant or even a complete rip-off.

We have more choices than ever in terms of socially accepted lifestyles. (That can either be a positive or a negative depending on your values.)

More kids now are attending preschool and day care than at any point in history, partly as a result of both parents working. (That can either be a positive or a negative depending on your values.)

People are STILL literally dying to come to this country.

And you want to tell me that the middle class is "suffering" more and more these days? Give me a break.
