If "G-S" is reinstated, each will split in two, with IB and regular banking. It reminds me of Greeks and Trojan Horses. After this crisis ends and their survival is no longer in doubt, they won't need the bank charters. And with "G-S" back in force, Investment Banking will be less competitive and more profitable.
