Here is something about Mi450 - assuming this picture is correct.

Apparently, there will be some custom HBM base dies that will offer offers additional functionality, namely LPDDR5 memory controller.

So in this picture, Mi450 is shown with 12 stacks of HBM and each base of HBM can connect to 2 LPDDR5 chips. So this could, in theory, be 1 GB of LPDDR5, using chips commonly available on the market today.

So this Rubin CPX with cheap(er) lots of cheap(er) GDDR7 memory? Mi450 can (potentially) do both on the single chip, with even more and even cheaper memory. Both pre-fill and inference, in the same module.

This base die - it is not clear it is AMD's own or some off the shelf base die.
