* In New Jersey, aides to Gov. Chris Christie (R) " privately conceded" that the governor picked an October special election to fill the state U.S. Senate vacancy because he feared "adding the Senate contest to the Nov. 5 general election risked energizing Democrats." That's a pretty cowardly and fiscally irresponsible move for a guy up by 30 points in statewide polls.
