We had quite the wind event overnight along with periods of heavy rain. More than 100k BC hydro customers are without power, schools are closed across a wide swath of the Fraser Valley, and a number of highways remain closed.

The forecast remains rife with more rain, but the record warm temperatures -- many places in BC recently recorded their highest ever temperature for the entire month of December -- have receded so the skiers will soon be happy as freezing levels drop back to normal levels.
