I know what you mean. That is interesting to know that Brown was ok this morning, a friend of mine uses them and also says good things. The only other online broker I have yet to hear bad things about is webstreetsecurities - they are the ones with free commissions on trades of 1,000 shares of a Nasdaq stock.

I think I trade about 40 times a month, mostly in my Etrade account. I agree with your comment about shorting internet stocks, however I think some people have gotten themselves into trouble by shorting internet stocks with too much of their portfolio. I am looking at no more than 10% as a hedge against all other long positions (including like internet positions). As I hedge, I THINK AMTD is a better short than Etrade as of today, but then again who knows what they will do with this stock after earnings.

At this point I feel the need to short a little bit just out of principle, because I think if AMTD and EGRP keep screwing up in terms of service word is going to get out that their are other options.
