I gather this is the introduction to a collection of essays justifying public pensions. I certainly hope the essays are better written than this introduction.

I haven't read any of that source. I knew that there were lots of other countries experimenting with partial privatization and that was the first list of countries google offered me. Just wanted to point out that partial privatization isn't totally off the wall.

Folks advocate other programs such as health care based primarily on the fact that so many other advanced countries do it so it seemed that some credibility might be awarded based on the fact that countries are doing this, too.
