BLOOMFIELD, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 1999--IEI (OTC BB:IECS.O) has hired Joe Knox as its VP of Product Development. Mr. Knox has fifteen years of experience in the environmental cleanup business, most recently as a Vice President of Western Operations for EA Engineering, Science and Technology (NASDAQ: EACO.O). Prior to that Mr. Knox was a Regional Manager for Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: WATR.O) where he opened and managed major offices in both the Northeastern and Western parts of the U.S. Mr. Knox will manage the overall sales and marketing effort for Industrial Ecosystems by aggressively establishing a pipeline of target clients, qualified leads, and new orders. Initial efforts will focus on the expanding IEI's client base in the petroleum sector in the New Mexico Four Corners area and in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jake Hatcher who is presently director of our New Mexico operations has become General manager of Operations. Mr. Hatcher has enhanced the companies Bioconversion process and has successfully remediated petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil containing up to 400,000 Parts Per Million down to 1000 Parts Per Million in 120 days. These improvements will be instrumental in broadening the range of potential new clients the company is targeting. The company has also hired William J. Priore as VP of Science and Technology. Mr. Priore comes to IEI from EA Engineering, Science and Technology Inc. where he provided corporate technical support as the National Technical Director for Hazardous Materials and Sediment Remediation. Prior to EA, Mr. Priore served in a similar capacity for Metcalf & Eddy, Inc of Wakefield, Mass. Throughout his career, Mr. Priore has provided a high level of environmental consulting service on multi-million dollar projects for many Fortune 50 clients. As VP of Science and Technology for IEI, Mr. Priore will assist our clients in project development and implementation. He will also assist in the development of IEI'sproprietary Bioconversion technology for other markets.
