Nope, I've got to agree with Allen. The announcements by Phoenix and AMI (Phoenix mentioned Compaq, AMI mentioned Iomega in theirs) mean that people want *A* high-cap. removable to be bootable, and the new BIOS standard covers all of them. But, since there are so many Zips out there, they might just become the primary benefactor of this new development.

BTW, there are still a few machines out there which look first at their 5.25 in. drive to boot up. Probably quite a few, there's lots to be said about inertia.

Thus said, I'm still happy. To the more technophilic of us, how does one go about getting a new BIOS chip and making sure it will work in their machine?
