I have a Fidelity account also. I was concerned the more *experianced* investers here would probably think I'm a fool for spending too much on trades. However, like you, I think very highly of Fidelity (fast, reliable, trustworthy, etc.). More so after hearing some of the horror stories with the very cheap brokers.

I recently started trading online using the internet (rather than FOX which I never tried). They give you a 25% discount on trades rather than 10% with their touch tone trader. The only cost (other than ISP which is your responsibility) is for the real time quotes. But they have a very generous formula for giving you free quotes which uses the amount in your account and the number of trades you make. Only after that you are charged for them. I called and asked how many free real time quotes I had when I signed up and they said 5500! And I am not what you would call an active trader.
