The gouging began 3 days after Bush-Cheney were officially a ticket. It ended (temporarily) 2 days after Jeffords switched parties and gave Dems subpoena powers to go after Cheney's Energy Task Force which was allied with Enron and all the big energy CEO's.

You are lamely just trying to cover up for the energy thieves. Stop it. These people are the biggest crooks this country has ever seen, and they're stealing from you too.

You know damn well Enron would have never done what they did without total cooperation not just from Bush and Cheney (whom they were tightly allied with), but from their close-close friends like James Baker and all the heads of the energy companies. Bush-Cheney ruling the WH was the dream come true for the energy business, especially with Delay running congress. And they were all working together. All of them. Like other businesses, it's a small world in that one and they all have the same special interests.

Gray Davis and Clinton were completely blind-sided, lied to, hoodwinked and back-stabbed, as were the American people.

Ed Gillespie was the pointman for public relations (ie propaganda, public coverups and misleading the public) for both Enron and soon after the Bush-cheney campaign, then Bush promoted him to head the RNC. $7,000,000 of Enron money was spent by Gillespie on dishonest TV ads to blame the energy crisis on Grey Davis. This was done through a secret PAC called something like Taxpayers for Justice which Enron and the GOP formed together.
