Little mixed up...

I don't know how Windows finds stuff when it doesn't know where to look. (I know how DOS does.) I suggested looking in your registry to see if Windows already knows where to look for your file.

On my system, Windows can find stuff on my DOS path, and cannot find stuff not on my DOS path, when I enter a 'plain' filename in the Run command box. I'm assuming Windows checks the DOS path, which is consistent with the evidence, but I'm not sure about this.
