Bob: I think you miss his point

Comparing the EPS with stocks with different outstanding shares is done all the time, its the most basic "barometer" of a stocks valuation called the PE (price to earnings) ratio.

The point is that TRID had significantly higher EPS in 96 and their anticipated 97 EPS is higher than SIII (growth is similar), thus if you assume a similar PE for two companies in the same industry, TRID's share price should be higher that SIII!

There is no conclusion that TRID is "better" than SIII, only that at a similar PE, their price should be higher.
