Lavatory Attendant Honored: DSGumby Makes News Again LONDON (Rooters) - The London Tourist Board has honored a lavatory attendant with a special welcome award for his services to tourism. DSGumby, who tends the public lavatories in the suburb of Lewisham, was praised for being caring, committed and selfless at a Hollywood Oscar-style ceremony. ''I just want to thank my manager Nasty, the cleaning staff, the maintenance men, my customers and everybody who knows me. I could not have achieved this without them,'' he said, with a great flushing of the face. Overjoyed at the award, he told Saturday's Daily Telegraph: ''I love the job. I honestly wouldn't want to do anything else in the world. Which is why I trade stocks on the side. It is the perfect environment.'' For all human life is revealed to him: ''People seem to get a little bit closer to their emotions in the lavatories. You don't have to pretend in here. We are all human and we are all equal. Well.. some are more equal than others.. I mean Nasty Nathanc came in here the other day and afterwards nothing would flush... but, I just try to treat everyone the same with a bit of respect... the bastids.''
