Would you advise me to sign up for their service?

I am interested, but torn. The ISP service is fine when it works, but it is often unavailable. Usually the outages disappear as mysteriously as they appear-get home from work, no Internet, get up in the morning and it is working. Last week it didn't self-heal, and after finally getting through to a CSR and having the diagnostics run, they determined they would have to send someone out. First available service appointment was in 8 days ....! They did show up on the appointed day and after they left the system was working again. Not having Internet access for a week is an annoyance, but I can live with it (or more accurately, without it, I guess). Not having phone service for a week would be grounds for divorce, I expect. How do I get comfortable that, as they promise, their phone system will be much more reliable than their ISP? And if it is more reliable, why don't they use it for their Internet delivery as well....?
