"Drilling To Begin" - Eaglecrest Explorations Ltd.

August 10, 1999 12G #82-603

NEWS RELEASE #99-14 EEL-VSE

Eaglecrest Explorations Ltd. reported today that the diamond drill rig en route from Argentina to Bolivia has now cleared a Bolivian customs backlog and that diamond drilling at the company?s San Simon project in north-eastern Bolivia is expected to begin by the weekend.

The company said that the initial 2500 metre drill program will focus on approximately 650 metres of stockwork strike-length trending east from the Paititi pit exploited by local artisanal miners. In addition, a number of exploratory holes will be drilled along another 3.3 kilometres of structure that has been mapped to date. Eaglecrest?s new geological interpretation indicates the Paititi mineralization consists of a northeast-southwest striking, shallow northwest dipping (-30 degrees) zone of 80 ? 100 metres thick auriferous quartz-vein/stockwork. The target carries a chargeability low signature, with several chargeability highs, within a structural trend that has an overall strike length of seven kilometres.

The company also reported that early stage examination is continuing along a recently acquired auriferous, quartz pebble conglomerate horizon now indicated to be in excess of 20 kilometres long. This conglomerate horizon is associated with elevated uranium stream sediment anomalies and a weak radiometric anomaly. Gold has been noted in both the matrix and in the quartz pebbles in a number of locations along 12 kilometres of the conglomerate sampled to date.

The company also reported today that two major gold producing companies have recently visited the San Simon project and that two additional gold producers are scheduling site visits to follow the current drill program.
