VSE Continues Work on Reactivation of KIDD Class Destroyers BAV Division Receives $99 Million Delivery Order
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thu Feb 05 12:28:00 2004 EST ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb 5, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- VSE Corporation (Nasdaq: VSEC) reported today that it has been awarded a U.S. Navy delivery order with a potential value of $99.9 million for reactivation of four KIDD class DDGs for the Taiwan Navy. The delivery order requires VSE to provide management, engineering, logistics, industrial production and other services necessary to accomplish repairs and alterations to reactivate the ships. The reactivations will be performed on a staggered schedule and are expected to be completed in March 2007. Work will be performed by the BAV Division of VSE, and by the BAV team of subcontractors, under BAV's ten-year, $1.1 billion Navy contract to support the reactivation and transfer of ex-U.S. Navy ships to foreign navies. VSE's BAV Division is under the direction of Jim Knowlton, Executive Vice President and Director of VSE's International Group.
