It won't be a Cat 5 wherever it hits. The waters of the Gulf are cooler than they were for Charley. For Charley the water was 89 degrees (off the coast of SW Florida), now the temp. is 84-85. I run on the beach a couple of times a week and there is a definite cooling of the Gulf. There are also strong shearing winds to take into account.

I would guess a Cat 2 by the time it makes land fall. Hell, my guess is as good as theirs.
