Sorry Dan, you are dead wrong. Call your broker....I do business with Merrill Lynch and asked my broker if the folks I borrow stocks from for a short position could in any way cancel the contract. He stated there is no way he/she could cancel the contract. The only way the contract gets closed is when the short covers the position.

I don't want to start an argument here but disseminating incorrect information on this type of forum is not a good idea.

Now MM's can sell stocks that they do not own.......
