> There are many sources which can help one to understand the Quran. I don't know if it's fair to say that one cannot understand what God meant to say, but, yes, the full meaning can be best understood by those who have learned Arabic. Muslims should strive to learn Arabic so they can more fully appreciate and understand the Quran.
Did you ever wonder, why a religion such as Christianity with its book (namely Bible) can send almost the same identical message (of love and peace) with every version of the Bible translated in every language you can think of in every corner of this planet, and without the need for any other book accompanying the Bible to understand its message? The same is true with literally any other religion you can think of, from Buddhism, to Judaism, to Hinduism, to Zoroastrianism, to whatever you can think of.
And yet when it comes to Islam, Quran is best understood only in Arabic, and only if you have a set of other books that can explain what it tries to say!
Like I said, dont you honestly think that God would express his/her words in such a way that can be understood no matter what language, or cultural background his/her people might have?
> There are many books which have been published, and I'm sure the Imam at a local mosque would be happy to help.
Speaking of <Imams, what are your thoughts on someone like khomeini who has been given the title of Imam by the Shiiet Muslims? In essence he has been given the same title as someone like Imam Hossein, (the 3rd Imam of Islam if I am not mistaking), or Imam Ali (although only Shiiets believe in him, and Suni Muslims believe in Omar), etc. Basically I was wondering what you thought of Khomeini having been given the same level of respect as the other 12 Imams of the Islamic religion.
