With earnings close why wouldn't you hold

Earnings for the current quarter should be very strong, thanks in part to the rush to buy phones in Korea before the subsidies got nixed. But more important than "the numbers" for Q3 will be the conference call, and mgmt comments (guidance) for Q4. Expect analysts to hone in on the size of the "modest decline" in chipset orders mgmt has warned about. The market discounts future growth, and the flip side to the boost anticipated in the present quarter (due to rush buying in Korea) is a likely reduction in guidance for Q4 (anticipated by analyst downgrades, and by mgmt's warning of a "modest reduction" in chipset orders for Q4). If Q4 is flat or lower than Q3, that will not be good at all, especially considering that Q4 is when handset makers load up on chips to meet the holiday peak demand season.
