"Just a correction. Toy Story was rendered on Sun workstations, not SGIs. That confusion and misinformation thing ;>" Actually the animation which requires real high powered graphics was done on SGI boxes. The rendering which only uses cpu cycles was done on a large farm of SUN workstations.
