Stock Operator,

Let me offer an analogy: I held INTC and CSCO over the years. Both stock did a 50% dive now and then that I almost lost counts.

Recently I sold some shares of both stock bought within the last 5 years, and the cost bases for both were under $1.5.

The point is that my time horizon is much longer than a few days, months or even a couple of years. To hold the best companies with options to hedge against remain the best strategy for me. [Should I tell you about the cc I bought for BRCD or puts I sold?}

In five years or less, it wouldn't matter whether I paid $80 or $40 for my BRCD shares. To me, timing matters only with options.

To argue over ST vs LT is an old and tiring subject. But I'd be happy to compare notes with you around December this year if so desired.

BTW, you had some real gems posted on SI over the years. I still saved a few that I considered "classics":
