From Thomson IWatch: Informix Corp (IFMX) inked a deal to acquire Ardent Software Inc (ARDT) for $880 million in stock. Holders of ARDT will receive 3.5 shares of IFMX per ARDT share. Informix expects the deal to add to earnings in 2000. In after hours trading, IFMX has slipped $3/8 to $10 5/8, while ARDT has jumped $5 to $31 1/4.
