John Murphy has a new book out in which he says fundamentals are already built into charts... so TA is everything.

Actually, you only need a couple of rules to make money and the first is don't be greedy... I find I take my biggest losses when I forget that rule... because when I get greedy, I ignore the rules.

1. Focus on the trend. The trend is defined by the 200 day MA... buy calls when it is up and puts when it is down.

2. Use the Raff channels to position yourself. I would want a stock to be in the lower part of a Raff channel to buy calls and the upper part to buy puts. Exit when it you double or get to the upper part of the Raff channel (lower for puts).

3. Pick volatile stocks to place trades against. For example, Boeing during 1994 did nothing. It moved rather slowly between 40 and 50. There are indicators you can use to find them or get an investment advisor which I have (Bernie Schaeffer). I have EXPLOER screens which also tell me which are candidates.

4. Get long term options. I just rolled over 17 1/2 HM puts that were expiring in two weeks to 15 HM puts that expire in July. I expect to at least double my money within the next month or so.

5. Put in sell orders as soon as you buy... i have missed several good profits by ignoring this one.

There are others you can consider, but to me these are the most important.
