my favourite anecdote is the high school teacher who can retire in 2 yrs at 55. 'i have to get agressive, i'm two years away from retiring. and everything i read points to high tech'. these are not individuals who can conceive of buying something that is actually out of favour, and are probably the sort that would have bought berkshire a when it was 80k but laugh at it when its 45k.
