i believe republicans should come out against the war with explanations and a plan. however, democrats bring up trump, russia russia , russia, all over again and most of the democrats will believe it. great question no answer.
I think John is absolutely right. The function of an opposition party (presently the Reps) is to offer alternative scenarios - not to blindly sing along. Also, as he says, the reason this is not happening is politicking. Or, as an Internet friend from a long time ago used to say, “PollyTickling”.

The ultimately successful strategy for the Republicans would be to be principled and honest. The war must wind down. Global nuclear annihilation must NOT happen. I think the percent of Americans willing to face a nuclear war over Ukraine would be in the low single digits. So, that’s good politics as well.

In my 2-3 posts this morning I tried to summarize what I think.
