"if Mojo stayed under the radar, only taking clients by referral so that no one need know his reasons for rejecting some clients, could you hold your nose while suffering him to do that?"

Yes, I could hold my nose if the impure party did not know they were being excluded for reasons that they would rightfully find offensive. I think I could hold my nose, because I do not like to assume the offense felt by another...and there is a question of practicality.

I am offended by many things every day, but I do not generally go to the press or the police, or the courts.

I think though, Karen...that somebody else would smell it even if I did not.

"the only alternatives are for him to find another line of work or end up sued or prosecuted"

I think a better solution would be re-training--and workshops dealing with the harmfulness of systemic discrimination. It is a well-know fact that people can be re-educated, and that deep-seated prejudices may be overcome through proper training. For instance, EVERYONE can identify with how badly THEY feel when they are PERSONALLY excluded or treated as inferiors. Role playing workshops are ideal for working through these sorts of issues.
