Unless I'm mistaken, as long as, by whatever means, he never actually communicates to a potential client that that client is unacceptable by virtue of class identity, then he does not have an unacceptable business practice.

Right on, unless he puts that policy in writing or openly states it, in which case it HAS become a business practice.

I may have in the back--or even the front--of my mind that I'll never accept a one-legged person as a client. But as long as no one-legged person every shows up at my door, as long as I don't ask prospective client who call me whether they're one legged, as long as no prospective client ever tells me they're one legged and thereby force me to reject them as a client on that ground, and as long as I never express that position to anybody so it remains just a thought or belief in my mind, it's not a business practice, and therefore it's not anything that can or needs to be addressed.
