I started trying to get the prez to notice me back during Viet Nam. When I wrote to Nixon, I used to include my SSN with the note "So you can file it easier".

Don't know if it worked or not, but I know I survived some FBI checks for employment with the VA, and, I think , the Census Bureau. They either respected me too much to flunk me me, or they had a whole lot less on me than I hoped they did; I'll bet on the latter.
