Actually rob, Fuchi is right. Last year OEMs were all afraid to buy a CPU from non-I because they believed that customers were all sufficiently brainwashed that they wouldn't buy a 6x86 system regardless of price/performance. A few small OEMs put systems on the shelves, and guess what - customers took them home. So this year when the K6 comes out, the OEMs know that customers WILL buy K6 based systems if the price/performance is right, and they know that while some consumers have been brainwashed, many have not and retain an open mind. Cyrix is an AMD friend as well as competitor. And that doesn't even count the many cooperative ventures such as OpenPIC, the faster buses, new chipsets, etc.

Good luck to AMD as well as Cyrix,

Carl
