To all:
for those interested in this method of investing, which I have been using for some time now as previously indicated, I would like to point out that Prodigy has an excellent Stock Hunter method of easily finding stocks that fit into whatever criteria you want to use in the current p/e vs. estimated 5 yr. growth rate scenario. for example, you can plug in 10 to 15 current p/e; 20-30% estimated (or actual--past) growth, and it will list all the stocks in their database that fits this criteria. usually, the more extreme one gets in setting the difference in p/e vs growth, the more obscure (limited analyst coverage, usually small regionals) and highly speculative the issue.
using Prodigy's Strategic Investor for a set monthly fee, one can obtain as many as 50 reports a week. I find these reports to be invaluable. they include several pages of data, including current ratios, past performance, b/s information, income statement information, stock ownership information, analysts estimates and ratings, and more. it is truly a bargain in my opinion.
please understand that I have no interest in Prodigy other than as a customer, except that I find Prodigy's stock's services to be indespensible (I'd feel lost without the reports I referred to) and would like to see it increase its customer's base.
Prodigy was once the dominant player of the commercial online services. I have tried the other two, and, for the life of me, I simply cannot understand what is the big attraction with the one that has taken such a big share, I suppose, from Prodigy. not only do I greatly prefer Prodigy"s business section, but I found its realtime communication ("Chat") vastly superior to its rivals (although I haven't been to the others for awhile now. perhaps they have improved since then in the chat area). also, Prodigy's BB are large, easy to find by topic, and easy to post and edit.
this is, of course, all my opinion; however, as I said, it is a great tool to find stocks using this method of investing (and other popular methods too can be used).
BTW, Boston Chicken is one I just found over there. I'm looking into it right now.
