WorldPort Communications Chooses Windward to Develop & Integrate Its Global Hosting Management System DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2000--WorldPort Communications Inc. (OTCBB: WRDP - news) today announced that it will employ a Global Hosting Management System developed by Windward Consulting Group, a leading systems integrator, to link its network, systems, and performance technology requirements with its operational processes.
Windward Consulting Group developed the Global Hosting Management System to perform network, performance and system
management for WorldPort Communications. Using a best-of-class software approach, this architecture reflects the need to have a reliable, scalable, architecture that is capable of monitoring an unlimited number of customer systems with varying Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and monitoring thresholds. ``Windward truly understands our business processes and knows that reliability is one of the cornerstones of WorldPort's Web hosting business,'' said James L. Martin, Chief Technology Officer at WorldPort. ``The Global Hosting Management System designed by Windward allows us to closely monitor and manage our systems to provide the 24x7 service assurance our customers expect.''
With expert technology infrastructure planning, design and implementation support from Windward, WorldPort chose three best-in-class applications to run the network, performance and systems management aspects of operations. Micromuse's
NetCool® software will provide an integrated top-level view of all the managed elements, acting as the overall manager of managers. InfoVista Corporation will provide the technologically advanced software, called VistaViews, which monitors, analyzes and reports on performance, availability and quality of service; Concord Communications' Empire Agent will provide the critical insight needed to monitor specific customer systems and application thresholds.
``Throughout this complex task, we worked closely with WorldPort to develop an architecture that provides the integration, flexibility and growth potential WorldPort requires as they expand throughout Europe,'' said Sean McDermott, President of Windward Consulting Group. ``The integrated Global Hosting Management System will allow WorldPort's operations support staff to efficiently and effectively report to customers on the health and status of their Web hosting services.''
In addition to designing the architecture and performing the integration of VistaViews and the Empire agents with the Netcool suite at WorldPort's Dublin SuperCentre, Windward will provide comprehensive training, support and consultative services.
