AOL put options are very pricey, so if you do it go out at least 2 months and not to far out of the money. Problem is there is so much damm premium in these options your timing has to be right on. The stock will be much more volatile near earnings . The stock probably will remain in a tight range until then , baring any major news.
As for the techs in general , the 3rd quarter earnings jitters will
probably come back after Micron reports its earnings in Sept, but we are also going into a strong part of the year for techs so any major downside action may be buffered by this, one other thing, as important as 3rd quarter earnings are, what the tech companies say about future earnings is more important.
