Clinton was quite popular in the rest of the world (as he was in this country). He was highly regarded for his intellect. The Europeans were baffled by the big deal that was made about the Lewinsky affair. They didn't think it merited such a huge reaction.

You are absolutely right! Indeed, Clinton was highly regarded for his intellect. In case some folks have forgotten, he was a Rhodes scholar in England and that was no small distinction. I am inclined to believe that Bush might not have gotten through law/business school but for his family connections.

Instead of castigating Clinton as the hypocritical Republicans have done, the Mexicans and other Latinos consider Clinton to be a macho guy!
