les, i heard that the average african american or latino family's net worth is 10% of the avg caucasion family's net worth. of course, al gore said so... be that as it may ;-) i tried to make the point on another thread that, when taken as a whole, economic advantage is a huge predictor of success. some guy argued and pointed out oprah ;-) seriously, though, little children grow up in neighborhoods that over sized, gun toting adults avoid. they do so b/c their parents tend to be undereducated and poor. this has to take a toll, a severe, toll, on a child's psyche. the only way i see to rectify the problem is for the haves to take a real interest in elevating the have nots - which won't happen until god almighty intervenes in a big way -ng-
