Short interest at 16 million shares is 3to1. Abullish indicator if you feel the fundamentals are improving as some have cited. Part of making money is the conviction you display in the face of the doubters. I'll tell what I think just happened. So many were looking for ORCL to report lackluster if not missed earnings and were selling short or buying puts on that basis. This includes institutional and momentum shorts. They all got caught with their pants down and continue to act as though they still feel they're right. We smaller guys say "Hey, how come no pop" and try to rationalise the lack of enthusiasm. Buy Buy Buy Buy Buy. Do NOT sell into their short covering and buy every single possible downward sell cycle designed to shake your faith. Growth is solid and we're entering the sweet spot of the cycle on both Database and applications. Peoplesoft, Baan and Manugistics all cited strong competition for THEIR LACKLUSTER EARNINGS. They told me everything I needed to know.

Go GET'EM and WIN

P.S.
I own a few shares myself.
