As with all things green, quality varies immensely

Cree LED's have a longevity of 50k hours. If a traffic light was on 10 hours/day that would = 13 years.

If SD bought the cheapest foreign knockoff they could find, it might work for a few months or it might not work out of the box.

Alas, CREE, I owned it once.
