Dow NEWS : Harvard University and Brigham and Women's Hospital announced today promising results from clinical trials of a group B Streptococcus (GBS) polysaccharide conjugate vaccine. The vaccine is based on technology exclusively licensed to NVX. " Group B Streptococcus is a devastating disease and the most common cause of serious infections in newborns and young infants." Sharon Mates,PH.D., President of North American Vaccine says in this news release " North American Vaccine holds numerous patents and patent applications relevant to all aspects of a GBS vaccine, which we believe makes us a world leader in the development of a safe and effective vaccine to prevent this serious disease." The major drug stock analyst who follow NVX have describes this particular vaccine as a "blockbuster" drug with a potentially enormous market. I have been told that the potential revenue that could be generated from this vaccine alone could be well in the many $100's of millions. Well with NVX's pipeline you can expect to be hearing more good news along the way like this. No question but that NVX's DTaP is in the final stretch to getting FDA approval, after that it will be on to DTaP-IPV, Hib, and GBS. Don,t forget NVX is a pure play in the vaccine business. Each new drug has real impact. IMO. NVX should prove to be a very rewarding long term play IMHO.
