ARM Comfortable With Consensus Sales Forecasts For 2004
Tuesday January 27, 3:49 am ET

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- U.K. semiconductor technology company ARM Holdings PLC (NasdaqNM:ARMHY - News) Tuesday said it is comfortable with analysts' consensus forecast for its 2004 sales.

Tim Score, ARM's chief financial officer, told a media conference call that forecasts for dollar-denominated sales growth of between 20% and 25% in 2004 is "sensible."

More than 90% of ARM's revenue is denominated in U.S. dollars, which could impact the company's results in 2004 given the dollar's weakness against sterling.

"We expect meaningful revenue growth in the underlying business in 2004 versus 2003," Score said.

Score also said the company, which paid its first annual dividend Tuesday, intends to adopt a progressive dividend policy in future. "The dividend has good prospects for growth," Score said.

ARM Holdings earlier unveiled a rise in fourth-quarter pretax profit to GBP8.9 million from the third-quarter level of GBP6.8 million, and forecast revenue growth in 2004.
