Interesting. I think the effects of such software are unforeseeable, but having all the computers "talking" to each other and sharing data would give the Empire quite an advantage over the Rebels, which is great if you are on the side of the Empire.

Although in this case, I think the Rebels want to establish their own Empire, an evil one.
