Completion of Lyon property due diligence

Due diligence work has been completed by American Copper on the Lyon
project, Nevada. Based on the favourable results of this work, filing of
regulatory documents is in progress and negotiations with USX Corporation,
the underlying title holder, are under way.
Cyprus Metals Exploration, a subsidiary of Cyprus Amax Minerals of
Englewood, Colorado, holds a lease on the Lyon property from USX
Corporation. Taurus Resources USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of
International Taurus Resources, holds an option to purchase 100 per cent of
Cyprus's interest in the project. On Aug. 8, 1998 American Copper entered
into a letter agreement with International Taurus to acquire 60 per cent of
Taurus's interest and become project operator by completing work
commitments and cash payments to Cyprus totalling $7,000,000 (U.S.) over
three years. American Copper may earn a further 10 per cent working
interest by completing a bankable feasibility study and arranging project
financing.
