Here's something else only someone who grew up in a Baptist church would know. At the time of Roe and for more than a decade or more afterward, evangelicals like Baptists were stand downs on abortion. It was thought of as a Catholic issue. Baptists and other evangelicals weren't involved in the issue, never preached on it ... for that matter, I think they still don't. I still have never heard abortion mentioned in a sermon in any church I've attended in my entire life.
