2 Dollars? That was for preffered, not common shares. I'm no expert, but I've thought that technically a stock could always be redeemed through a still operating company for it's par value at any time. Maybe I don't understand Par value just now...but if that .04 is correct, I bought a tiny stake in this company at half the price they are obligated to give me for my shares today. Somebody tell me how wrong I am????
