Gerber makes fine knives. "THE" SF knife today is the Yarborough knife. The 1st one thousand were numbered. Mine is #0393. Bill Harsey designed both it and the Gerber knife you posted. I just got mine out. The blades are similar but not exactly the same. One big difference I see is the sheath. The Yarborough has a soft sheath with tie down capability, and it has a small pocket for an arkansas sharpening stone
