Everyone is ditching the Van Wagoner funds because they were 3 of the worst funds in America in the second half of 1996. If he hasn't already sold most of his IRIX, he will be forced to soon.

Other than that, I like the company and it seems more than a fair value. Things that contribute to peoples' quality of life are good in general I guess and the financials on this company appear solid.

Very thin float at 2.6mil. It seems like it should trade in a wider trading range than the 6-1/2 to 9-1/2 it has been in lately. Perhaps it will soon. Oftentimes when a microcap stock like this trades in a small range like this for this long of a while, it will either explode to the upside on seemingly minor news or self-destruct and blast a gaping hole in your portfolio.

Overall, IRIX looks pretty solid and a fair bargain here. I'm not sure it would be a bargain at the $20-$30 you talk of though. But perhaps the story will be even more positive by the time that happens. Perhaps they will get their supply problem fully resolved, which is why the stock is $7 these days and not $17 in the first place.
