This link in the header doesn't appear to be relevant:
search.internet.com
Yes, it's a search for "brandsforless". However, the page that comes up has nothing to do with BrandsForLess - it talks about an "ET"-related advertising compaign that apparently doesn't involve them.
I don't feel that the header portrays the company fairly or even accurately - in fact, an important - aspect of their business - in fact, most would agree it's FOCUS, was omitted - services. The header focuses on products, which I don't beleive the company has ever said were their primary focus. Instead, their primary focus is services - banner advertising, creation of e-commerce "solutions", and now shopping.
I also think that far too much space is spent talking about Sesame Ad, a technology that is yet to be effectively demonstrated to the public by the company, and a technology that the company is apparently not using in their day-to-day operations, either for themselves or on behalf of their customers.
I do like the links in the header. But already there are errors, and I think it's impractical, since the webmistress will have to be contacted every time it is to be updated. SI just isn't set-up for this, and perhaps we should live with what SI has set up - you write a header, and it stays more-or-less forever, so write it as generic as possible.
Finally, I don't think anything is changed by switching threads and writing a new header. The past is not erased. The more things change, the more they stay the same. |
