Excellent points about the 1969 top and Templeton's view (another thinking man). As a young and naive investor, I watched the go-go era of the late 60's, bought in near the top in '69 and noted in 1982 (13 years later) that the Dow was exactly the same as when I entered 13 years earlier. More importantly, there were some gut-wrenching 80% declines during the 13 year period. Will the small investor hold on again if history repeats itself? We'll see.
